Simply stated, an oligarchy exists within the United States and Ron Paul threatens the rule of this oligarchy. Some reading this beginning statement are already shaking their heads at what they pre-judge to be an article supporting Ron Paul for President while the belief is his campaign is finished. Those who do not want Paul to be President have no doubt already surmised what is about to be written and discussed, their minds firmly closed they are now moving on to the reply section to shout down all Paulites and then they will move to the next article assumed to be in support of Dr. Paul's campaign.
Good, those supporting the people most threatened are gone so it is just the Paul supporters, and those desiring to gain enlightenment. The main reason I wanted to clear out the doubters and shouters was to gain a few minutes free from their soundbites and distraction to discuss with the rest of you how important it is to study the issues being discussed by Ron Paul. Within the issues are answers that can and will work today.
No, I'm not saying the original Constitution was perfect and should not be altered in any way. Even the enlightened men who debated over the verbiage knew it would need to be altered throughout time. The failure on their part was to see the adulteration that would occur within new amendments to the Constitution or traditions developed outside the Constitutional guidlines. Its OK, we can correct those in time while improving the overall strength of the Constitution and restoring our nation to the proper form of Federalist Republic we were to have. Study all the issues and all points of view on the issues and you will be better prepared to recognize politicians who will join our efforts and those who will remain outside of this revolution, those that will prefer clinging to the oligarchic rule.
Many founders did see and warn of the usurpation of power that would occur outside the authority granted by the Constitution. This is the key issue I want to spend the majority of our short time together on. No matter how many of us unite in our desires we must break the oligarchy before we can succeed. Even if we put Ron Paul in the White House we will severely hamper his ability to steer the government in the proper direction if we leave in place the Congressional lock currently in place. Although there are other strands of oligarchy rule outside the Federal government we must target the key sector hiding in plain site in the legislative branch. This is the body that makes the laws, this is the body Ron Paul and anyone embracing his ideals must get through in order to truly effect the change we must have.
Lets start with the education, and know what you are about to read is only the first part, you are required to do your homework. Your own study is important since you must gain a conviction there truly is an oligarchic structure and we truly can demand its removal. It is only through study and personal beliefs that you can sustain the energy to complete the task. If, in your study, you find yourself believing there is no such form of rule in Congress you earn the right to not get involved. However, I am confident you will see what I see, a tradition that needs to end.
First, I want you to click on the link below and see the organizational structure of the Senate from their website;
The U.S. Constitution is listed at the top followed by Article 1 which sets the foundation for our Legislative Branch consisting of a Senate and House of Representatives. Section 3, Paragraph 5 allows for the Senate to chuse their other Officers, and a President pro tempore, in the Absence of the Vice President, or when he shall exercise the Office of the President of the United States." The next three levels are not a Constitutional part of the Senate. Nowhere does it call for Floor Leaders,' Leadership,' or Committee Chairs.' Also, the final line for officers shows two extra secretaries for majority and minority which also are not called for within our Constitution. It is in these areas we start to truly see the oligarchic usurpation of power within the Senate. This next link gives you the history behind the Majority and Minority Leaders;
These positions came into being in 1920 and 1925. The Senate does not choose these officers' but instead they are chosen by their respective parties and note there are only two parties that participate in the process, Democrats and Republicans. Read this carefully, including information on the whips' and you provide me your thoughts through the comments section.
The House of Representatives actually developed these positions sooner. For the organizational chart of the House I thank Rep. John Linder for having it at his website. Again, notice the only Constitutional officer listed is the Speaker of the House yet there are far more leaders' on the chart. Here is a link to get you started;
If you click on any of the positions you will be taken to a page outlining the history of the position in the chart. Clicking on the Majority Leader' block we find this initial paragraph;
"Prior to the convening of a new Congress every two years, a Majority Leader is elected by a secret ballot of the majority party caucus. Traditionally, the Majority Leader serves as the deputy to the Speaker of the House, who, since 1860, has come from the majority party. Should the Speaker's position become vacant at any point, the Majority Leader is one of the most likely candidates to ascend to the post."
This secret ballot selection process again is not Constitutional and merely bounces back and forth between the two major political parties. It is a tradition' begun in 1899. "The House of Representatives, with its large membership, has chosen majority and minority leaders since the 19th century to expedite legislative business and to keep their parties united." (House Leadership History Link)
Note the reasons, expediting business and keeping their parties united. The modern reason we will here is the positions are necessary for the proper expedition of business yet the fact remains these positions are to maintain party unity and party control. If you are wondering why it seems there is little difference between the parties today it is simply because the parties are more concerned with maintaining this unity of power than carrying out the will of the people. Understand this is only the tip of the legislative oligarchy. Here is a link to another position you may not be aware of yet you pay for;
This is the Republican Conference Chairman position. There is also a Democratic Caucus Chairman, numerous Committee Chairs and more. Uncover more at the link below;
There is no conspiracy here so if you are seeking to uncover a new or exciting conspiracy theory I am sorry to disappoint you. These are all positions of extreme power provided to us today through history and tradition rather than through the Constitution of the United States. The power wielded is tremendous, the desire to obtain one of the coveted positions of leadership overwhelming. It is no wonder elected politicians go to Washington D.C. to change the system for the better and then become engulfed within the system.
Remember the words from George Washington in his farewell address, "However combinations or associations of the above description may now and then answer popular ends, they are likely, in the course of time and things, to become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people and to usurp for themselves the reins of government, destroying afterwards the very engines which have lifted them to unjust dominion." Particular care must be given to these words.
In the course of time and things these unconstitutional leadership positions have taken over the all important reins of our legislative branch. The intentions may not have been there at the start, there may be no conscious thought of control of the people not by the people yet with their secret party ballots and behind the scenes appointments those holding any of the unconstitutional positions have usurped control. We did not elect them, we did not send them to D.C. to do the will of the two major parties, yet study and learn this is their duty. Not our will but the party will be done. Not our business but the party business is done.
We know the process for impacting change; first we must get educated and then we must get actively involved. In the case of breaking the oligarchy rule in Congress we begin the education process here and now. Involvement will be in many forms; vote for representatives that most closely hold the values of liberty you can find, demand (no matter who the representatives are) your State Senators and Representatives support ending the unconstitutional organization gripping the legislative branch, demand restoration of the organization to the system designed by and acceptable within the Constitution. If, and more likely when, this fails during the initial demand keep the pressure for change moving forward while helping educate friends and family. Stay tuned for more ways to get involved and in the meantime complete your education.
The Ron Paul revolutionaries do threaten this oligarchy rule yet the powers that be are yet unaware of the long-lasting impact today's revolution holds for their traditions.'

Thank you Gary, This makes total sense and it's absolutely correct. The introduction and perpetuation of house minorities and majorities are indorrectly included datums if youtry to evaluate it against the constitution. Illogical.
Your suggestion of course of action to handle the oligarchy and only then be able to take the country back is vital. The Ron Paul movement musts be educated for starters. There's no shortage of freedom seekers.
This is a great, great article and the best I've read about how the power of our lawmaking body has gone way beyond the authority granted by the constitution. It's educational and hopefully will plant the seeds in our youth needed to end this tradition of getting engulfed in a system where nothing gets done. THIS IS WHAT RON PAUL IS ALL ABOUT!!! I said it before and I'll say it again, win or lose, Ron Paul has started a revoltion!!!
Thanks for the replies so far. In answer to 'creator' as far as I know I am the only one working on this. It has become a growing concern since President Ron Paul will need to work with Congress to successfully begin implementing the real changes we need to restore our foundations. For him or any others working to alter our legislative mistakes we must have a clean system to work within. Ending the internal oligarchy within Congress is something the people can do and it begins the process of cleaning. Granted, its no end for there are more areas, but this seemed to me a good place to focus our revolutionary laser right now.
'Lars' I appreciate the link and invite to post articles there as well. When I get a free minute I'll check it out and post this.
All, please stay tuned for another way to get involved through an online petition hopefully coming to a computer screen near you soon. Also, please feel free to shoot holes in the concept so we are able to insure a strong stance against what will be an avalanche of attacks against this idea. It is always a major challenge to wrestle power back from tyrannical claws.
