The vile, inbred, mainstream media keeps pushing and pushing the Ron Paul newsletter story, day after day after day. At best, these writings are 20-years-old. However, last night, the real racist stepped forth. The Keating Five member, 100-year Iraq War Supporter, NH vote fraud recipient, LIEberman hand-licker, pro-illegal immigrant Senator from Arizona, interrupted the moderator, waited for millions of Television viewers and uttered these words,
MCCAIN: "Could I just make a comment? I'm not interested in trading with Al Qaida. All they want to trade is burkas."
Seems like a harmless, childish comment when viewed in a European prism. After all, we see Arabs in every Hollywood movie killing Americans. In his defense, McCain did refer to Al Qaida, and not Muslims. But did that really make the remarks less or more deplorable?
First, for the unenlightened, what is a burka?
A Burka is a long enveloping garment worn in public by Muslim women. Note, that specifically Muslim women wear this traditional clothing.
So according to John McCain, the Terrorist, murderous, rapist group known as ‘Al Qaida' trades only in 'garments worn exclusively by Muslim women', making a direct link between a vicious terrorist organization and Muslim women.
Mainstream Media, make your case that 20-year old Newsletters are more relevant than RACIST Senator John McCain slandering all Muslims, specifically their women, on national television in South Carolina last night.

This is going to get very interesting, pulling out Mistress, unethical business dealing as well as kick backs transactions not to mention racism comments as well.
Be prepare the fun is just starting, they want to play dirty then the young well educated college students which support Ron Paul will be a force to reckon with.

You have no idea. Ask a few (Islamic) women who wear burkas if they find the comment racist.
Maybe being hispanic (and subject to racism in the past) allows me to view things differently.
Sorry Shooter Bob, but you need to consider what you are talking about. If you had watched the debates, you'd know that the discussion was on the whole region of the Middle East. From this it is painfully obvious that McCain associates everyone from that region with Al Qaida, which is undoubtedly rascist, and the people should know it.
Islam is not a race. As someone who just came back from the middle east, I'm amazed at the ignorance of people on here.
The burka is associated with sexism and the repression of women in Islam, period. Or maybe they can't drive in Saudi Arabia because of some other reason...
While it could be seen as an anti-muslim remark, I see it more as a jab at fundamentalist and extremist Islam (two different things, mind you, fundamentalism isn't a bad thing, but they share some of the same views... it's just one group kills people to enforce their belief). I think it was a jab at those groups that force women to wear burkas (fundies and extremists), not Islam or burka wearers in general. That and it was just a joke. One liners comprise 95% of John McCain's campaign, eventually he'll have a bad one or two. It's what happens when the only policy you've promoted which your base supports is the surge.
Don't like the war you are in? Start another one! That seems to be McCain's rational. I was just watching him on C-SPAN, and he made it very clear that he will " call on the young people of America" (ie take us into another war). By his language and tone, he seemed very convinced that we live in a "very dangerous world" and that the only way to deal with it was to "vastly expand our military forces". GIVE ME A BREAK!!! Expanding our military would be very expensive, and with many of our economic indicators pointing to the gates of hell (...coincidently where he intends to chase Bin Laden to), I'm left to wonder how he intends to PAY FOR IT??? He says that he wants to build walls to "secure our borders", but where is he going to get the money to do it? Print more out of thin air? Borrow it from China and MEXICO??? TAX ALL BUT THE ELITE OF THE ELITE INTO ABSOLUTE ECONOMIC DESOLATION???? HOW JOHN HOW???
At least I know how Ron Paul intends to pay for his "specious" (his are actually the more fiscally conservative than any other candidate) campaign promises.
This entire "War on Terror" taps into the racism that lies just below the surface in most Americans. This country has a long and dubious history of discrmination against people of different colors and cultures.
Why care if we torture Muslems? Afterall they are accused "terrorists". They speak a different language, wear different clothes, speak a language not easily learned and smell bad. They don't even use toilet tissue! Yuk.
The negative stereotyping of Muslems has been propagated by the corporate news for a specific purpose. They happen to live on top of the life blood of our suicidal, over-consumption lifestyle....light sweet crude. In an era when worldwide demand for the stuff is rapidly out-pacing supply, it is truly sad that the United States has chosen colonial conquest to ensure that we are the gatekeepers who will decide how this diminishing resource will be allocated.
The real issue here is that Ron Paul was talking about having diplomacy and commerce with Muslims nations - ALL of them. John McCain then tried to paint the image that Ron Paul was talking about having trade relations with Al-Queda, which is simply rediculous. So, taking into context Ron Paul's previous statement about trading with all Muslim nations, McCain essentually called all Muslim nations Al-Queda, and not worthy of trading. So it's not so much about McCain's words alone, it's about the context in which they were used - McCain tried to manipulate the public into thinking Ron Paul wanted to trade with terrorists, and thus made hasty comments that should (and does) offend Muslims.

The particular mention of burkhas reveals that McCain is in this War on Terror because it suits his feminist ideals. His Democrat law cosponsors and the soccer mom constituents are the ones he always pays all his attention to at the expense of male veterans and servicemen who are not into fighting a war for feminism. McCain wants to feminize the Middle East because his friends at the NOW want to see that happen.
Too bad we have an idiot running for president (and a few others) that tries to make cute jokes but only shows his stupidity (with a few posters here).
The majority of Muslim women do NOT wear a burqa, about 95% wear a jilbab or chador and niqab and headscarf, very few wear or even own a BURQA. The Taliban enforced the women of Afghanistan to wear burqas and it is the only place, other women may wear it but by choice.
So this fool who claims to have more foreign policy experience than the other candidates and you other posters should learn about something before commenting on it.

While I am no fan of his, McCain is no racist. In fact he is the father of an adopted daughter from Bangladesh (a Muslim country). In this case he's just guilty of a dumb joke that panders to the redneck vote.

Burkas are a pure Afghan dress for women. The rest of the Muslim world calls it Hijab (only for the face), while the Burka is a traditional PASHTUN dress! try reading once now and then instead of watching the news 'shows'.
You guys just can't help choosing idiots as presidents, can you? If you idiots had dedicated 1% of your defense budget to education, then maybe I would not have to correct you illiterates!
A few honest questions to everyone from US: Are you guys actually as stupid as we perceive you to be? Can you read a newspaper or do you plug in to the news 'shows' the whole day? Have you ever seen a map of the world (without Disney figures on it, I mean)?
Get a grip! Eight years ago you put a demon as your president and four years ago, you again voted for Satan's best friend. Who's it going to be this time? Too bad Sadam is dead, he would have made a fantastic candidate for the US presidency ...
Funny, the Republicans didn't seem to mind burkas when they were negotiating with the Taliban to build an oil pipeline through Afghanistan. We only turned against them when they reneged on the deal. We had plans to bomb them BEFORE 9/11. How convenient that Bin Laden (who has denied responsibility, by the way, for the most sophisticated act of terrorism ever committed -- odd considering the whole point of terrorism is to scare people/countries into doing what you want them to, so doing it anonymously defeats the whole purpose ...) was in Afghanistan for us to bomb. Of course, the Taliban offered to give him to us if we gave them proof of his involvement -- but then we couldn't throw them out and put in a puppet like Karzai (a former Unocal (oil company) consultant).
But we have to hate Muslims -- otherwise, brutally killing them in order to steal their land and oil would be hard to do. But if we are in the final showdown between good and evil and starting a world war with them will bring about the second coming of Christ -- well, bombing women and children becomes the "Christian" thing to do.
Some of you should really try reading the bible. There is plenty of misogeny in there. Paul, who advocated that women submit to their husbands, also advocated that women cover their hair. We just don't follow our religious teachings as faithfully as some of the Muslims do.
Thus the real dilemma. When Christ returns -- who will he consider to be the faithful? How can we be so sure that we are on the right side? Seems to me like none of us can claim moral supremacy.
Of course is racist! I am hispanic and see it as such.
However, those that want to smear Ron Paul choose to ignore or pretend that McGrain said was a cute remark. McGrain calls himself a pow and strong pres. candidate and has no clue how staying in Iraq only 2 more years will do to our country and the economy...Now can you imagine even half of 100 years?
I would love for Ron Paul to debate McGrain in foreign policy and the economy. Being a war-vet doesn't qualify him to be our president and run our country. Also -he is as old as Ron Paul and I can assure you Ron Paul is in better shape than McGrain.
Did you know that Ron Paul runs 10 miles a day in the thread mill? Not bad for a 72 yr old....:)
Ron Paul has my vote and my hard earned money.
Don't believe the lies that he doesn't have a shot...especially since Fred Thompson and Guiliani were both losers again (beat by Paul) and the media is still trying to shovel them down american's throat... and still ignoring completely and marginalizing a well qualified and legitimate presidential candidate!
