It's "We the People", Stupid! The problem in New Hampshire and Iowa was not the money raised or the message broadcast. It is not Fox News, or even badly behaved supporters. The problem is the American People.by EJ Moosa

If one ever needed proof that the American people cannot think logically, cannot work through a list of facts and then draw a proper conclusion, cannot leave the emotion out of a decision in order to make the proper decision, then I give you the results of the New Hampshire Primary.
And you are welcome to take either side of the New Hampshire primary for analysis, but I will focus on the Republican side. New Hampshire is supposed to be the home of the "independent" voter. Independent implies thinkers. Perhaps we need to reconsider that implication.
New Hampshire is supposed to be an anti-war state. Yet their number one choice for President is someone who just this week stated we will be in the Middle East for another 100 years!!! Does that make sense at all?
New Hampshire is also home to the Free State Project, where a group of like-minded libertarian types are moving to create a state of Freedom. The state was picked in part because of their already held views on freedom. So what happens? They vote overwhelmingly for a candidate that has co-authored legislation that censors political free speech:McCain-Feingold. Does this make sense?
Finally, our Republican winner also co-authored the McCain-Kennedy bill which would have legitimized millions of illegal immigrants(but just do not call it amnesty). Illegal immigration is one of the major issues of this campaign year.
Any one of these three issues should have been enough for independent voters to question the capabilities of John McCain. Instead we get an incredible victory for a man that wants to limit our freedoms, keep us in the Middle East for the rest of your grandchildren’s lives, and reward those who broke our laws to be here.
There is simply no logic I know to apply that would allow me to connect what the people of New Hampshire have indicated they want and what they have selected. This is not the first case nor will it be the last case we see of this behavior.
Massachusetts has elected Ted Kennedy for decades. Yet these same people also elected Mitt Romney for two terms as governor. Is there a disconnect there as well? I think so. This pattern is repeated often in so many states that I can only believe that the average person simply cannot differentiate that they are electing folks that work against one another. Cutting taxes on the state level while raising them at the federal level, as Massachusetts did while Romney was Governor makes sense? It is certainly not consistent.
Unless we can teach the people of this nation how to look at factual data and makes choices, and leave the emotion behind, we are doomed. Emotional choices can be right some of the time, but they are not right all of the time. Unless you can apply a logical approach to the decision making process, we may as well save our money and randomly pick our candidate.
It would make as much sense as the irrational choices that we have seen made so far. For those rational thinkers out there(and I know you are out there) I am as perplexed as you probably are. I can only conclude that the real enemy this country faces is already here. The real enemy if we do not have the Constitution to protect us will be "We the People". That scares the hell out of me.
