Ron Paul: Principled Leadership Let us take the opportunity to reenthrone the solemn value of constitutional principle by electing Ron Paul to the Presidency.by Jake Morphonios

Once upon a time American policy was based upon principles, rather than polls - on what was right, rather than what was popular. Such principled leadership has gradually eroded over time, leaving but a faint residue of the moral clarity which once was enjoyed.
It has always been this author’s belief that a man's honesty and integrity are among his most valued possessions. Heroes are those individuals who choose to always do what is right, regardless of the difficulty or popularity of such action.
The adage, "Do what is right and let the consequence follow", comes from a verse penned anonymously in 1857:
Do what is right; let the consequence follow. Battle for freedom in spirit and might; And with stout hearts look ye forth till tomorrow, God will protect you; then do what is right!
Some of today’s Presidential candidates are decent men with good intentions. However, while each of them is endowed with skill and charisma, they lack the focus of principle that should be guiding U.S. foreign policy and other matters of national interest. These hopefuls either do not understand the US Constitution or, worse, disagree with it.
It is time for America to stop throwing away votes on candidates who brazenly promise to pursue courses of action that are contrary to the principles upon which our nation was founded. These men are essentially vowing that they will not uphold their oaths to preserve and protect the US Constitution even before they have taken office. It is time for America to educate itself on the supreme law of the land and support a candidate whose words and record demonstrate that he will abide by that law.
Let us now cast our votes for Ron Paul, regardless of the media’s assessment of his viability - and let the consequence follow.
