 SAN DIEGO - December 29th
Third in a series on vote fraud -
*1* - *2* - *3* - *4* - *5* (coming soon!)

You can help insure an honest outcome for all candidates in the coming primary elections! While this article is about San Diego, California, it may inspire you to look for the same kind of opportunities where you live.

Do you remember Inspector Jacques Clouseau from the very funny Pink Panther movie series? Although he bumbled and fumbled and was an object of much ridicule, somehow he always managed to "get the job done."

The media seems to enjoy characterizing Dr. Ron Paul's supporters as "kooks" and "crazies." Here is yet another opportunity to display the strength of Ron Paul's "on the ground" army of supporters. Inspectors are needed, and you can become a "Panther for Paul!" -- that is, become a Precinct Inspector for a San Diego County voting precinct and insure an honest vote for all candidates!

Vincent Mross of San Diego has stepped up to the plate to show the way. I interviewed Mr. Mross, a member of the San Diego Ron Paul Meetup group, Friday morning. He is a citizen who is concerned about accurate vote counts and honest vote reporting in the upcoming elections. Rather than merely wringing his hands in impotent concern, Vince did something about it.

He first called the San Diego County Registrar Of Voters office; the conversation went something like this:

Mross: How do I become a precinct inspector?
ROV: We'll mail you an application.
Mross: Thank you!

A short while later:

[RRrringgg!]

Mross: Hello?
ROV: We're supposed to be sending you information about becoming a precinct inspector - have you done this before?
Mross: No.
ROV: OK, then, you will be put on our "alternate" list.
Mross: I wasn't told that when I first called. Is this a matter of law or regulation?
ROV: Please hold, I need to talk to my supervisor.
.... after a short delay, the phone handler returned and said:
ROV: That's just how we do things.
Mross: I'd like to see that in writing somewhere...
ROV: No, no, it's not in writing, it's just our policy...
Mross: Do you have enough people to fill all the spots, is that why you want me to be an "alternate"?
ROV: No, there are lots of openings - we need people!

At this point, Vince decided to go in person to the local Registrar of Voters office and check on the matter. When he walked into the lobby, he found (right at the front counter) a stack of Precinct Inspector application forms. Vince filled one out on the spot and turned it in. He was told to expect to hear within two weeks whether or not his application was approved.

Leaving the office, Vince grabbed about 50 forms to give to the head of the local Ron Paul San Diego Meetup Group, Mike Benoit (you can get one from Mike, or on-line -- see below.)

Not too long after his visit to the office, on December 27th:

[RRrringgg!]

Mross: Hello?
Donna: Hello, this is Donna from the San Diego County Registrar of Voters.
Mross: Hello!
Donna: Your application for precinct inspector has been approved.
Mross: Great!
Donna: We need a lot more people! Do you know of anyone else who could help? Family or friends? We have many unfilled positions, please help out!

As it turns out, there are at least four positions open in each precinct - Precinct InspectorAssistant Inspector, Touchscreen Inspector, and Clerk. Get this, these are paid positions! $150, $125, $125, and $75 respectively! There is a four-hour training program required for all positions except Clerk.

Imagine that! Help guarantee an honest vote count for all the candidates, and get paid to do it as well! If you live in San Diego County, you can find the registrar's office at 5201 Ruffin Road, close to I-15.

Kudos to Marcus of the SD Ron Paul Meetup group for raising the issue of vote fraud, to Vincent Mross for following through and pioneering the way to become a Precinct Inspector, and to Chris for help with researching this article. Thank you all!
