A New President

Same old collapse of Empire.

We all get what is coming, whether we deserve it or not. Half the country is mourning this morning, but the other half will be those hardest hit by the oppressive Socialism that our country has voted to embrace. (Obama or McCain doesn't matter, they both vigorously promote the future we are about to suffer.)

I've been preparing for the collapse of our society into Socialism for over a decade. Who is sitting in the Oval office is irrelevant given the course we're on. History is merely following a well worn path and we're not going to like where it leads. No one ever has.

I'm glad the first of Socialism's victims (poor, young, dependent city dwellers) are experiencing a bit of joy this morning. It will not last. Fortunately for them, the century-long agenda by "The Left" to dumb down Americans so they cannot understand the horrors of Socialism or even relate to documented history of these horrors or to deal with the reality of economics has left them ripe for celebrating their entering economic slavery for the rest of their lives. Their fate is sealed and they have no clue. I hope they relish today's joy such that its memory lasts them a lifetime.

I believe disappointment is a missed appointment with unrealistic expectations. I'm not disappointed at all because our nation's choices are meeting all my expectations; just as history indicates they would. I've been preparing for what is coming and I've been encouraging everyone I know to do the same. No one will ever know how desperately I've hoped to be wrong but now there is no question in my mind. Humans seem incapable of moving beyond the urge to pull everyone down into the mire of collectivism. It is our species' fatal flaw.

If anyone is curious how the next decade will play out, I recommend they read Empire of Debt, by Bill Bonner and Addison Wiggin. As we repeat the same mistakes of dozens of empires that came before us it will be beneficial to know what to prepare for.

Will Obama become the 2nd Democrat in US history to end a war? Will he use Truman's nuclear option to do it? I think the answer to both questions is No.

Wars give uneducated, unskilled, poor, unemployed victims of Socialism a reason for existing. War gives these victims hope of rising above the mire or glory in dying while trying to do so. Obama cannot afford peace and has no way to achieve it.

We all get what is coming, whether we deserve it or not. The best any of us can do is to deserve as much of the good and as little of the bad that comes our way.

-Jahfre Fire Eater, not joyous, not mouring, just redoubling my preparations to survive what is coming.

There's no doubt in my mind that America as a whole deserves what it sews. The sad thing is that people are so shortsighted. Meanwhile, as the only people around with sensible ideas on how to change things, whether they be libertarian or some garden variety socialist, will never be heard, the rest spin around in a circle, caught in the midst of two blurry streaks- in the end, they're only purple.

Whether we want to admit it or not, we allowed this to happen. In exchange for one short period of quiet rest, we lost our vigilance, and if it ever comes back, it will take an even greater period of suffering to bring it back. Hopefully, it's on the horizon. Things have to get worse before they become better.

I'm hoping for one more stimulus check so we can stockpile some beans and flour.

Mr. Fire Eater:

As always, your ability to articulate, and your style of relating the content hereof is appreciated. I couldn't agree more with your assessment: (Obama or McCain doesn't matter, they both vigorously promote the future we are about to suffer.)

It's always best to be prepared, but let's try to keep a better than dismal expectation for the future. We are by nature innovative, and resiliency is  a natural characteristic that we share with many other species. Whatever hardship the next decade may bring, some of us will only be stronger as a result of the experience, and our descendants will benefit from the trials we may endure.

I believe it has fallen upon a select few to keep the flame of Liberty burning through some very trying times. And your writing/activism places you among them. You are appreciated.

Peace

Yes, I agree with the Fire Eater. Obama or McCain, it makes no difference in the long run. They are both different styles of the same error in thinking. The Republicans might get us to the inevitable socialist quagmire a little more slowly, but they would get us there just the same. Mr. Obama will do it quickly and be glad about it.
