Christian Anarchists for Obamageddon?
Why has it become so common to identify with a particular group of very narrow interests before stating a position or an opinion? Why should it matter what little group one might think puts their image out there appropriately? I just don't know, but it was fun to think about. Here's what I thought.

Why not. In the age of identity politics it is all the rage to identify your pigeon hole before you identify your candidate. Today in the People's Republic of Boulder Colorado, Mrs. Fire Eater and I noticed a lot of Obama signs. Most of them were the normal campaign eyesores but some were of the sort I mentioned above - Tennis Moms for Obama where the "O" is a tennis ball, golfers for Obama where the "O" was a golf ball. You get the idea.
So I was musing about identity politics as we made our winding ascent from the PRB into the pointy lands we call home. The Mrs. was driving for a change so all I had to do is hold on tight and think about something other than how much I wished I were driving. (She drives well but I just LOVE to drive.)
There were absolutely no McCain/Palin signs in Boulder, in case you were curious.
We did see a couple Nader/Gonzalez signs as we neared the town of Nederland. Obviously the air is pretty thin up there at 8400 ft.
As we traveled, I tried to think of identity politics-oriented groups where it would perhaps make a difference to identify the group before stating an opinion.
The first thing that came to mind was Anarchists for Obama where the "O" is the Anarchy symbol. Then I went a little crazy and changed it to Anarchists for Obamageddon. Now it is starting to change from pointless identity politics into fairly well barbed identity politics.
Finally, in a last dash of genius I rendered Christian Anarchists for Obamageddon. Now, at last, a banner to rally those GOP voters who cannot vote for McCain so they have decided to hasten the collapse of civilization by supporting Obama. Those poor, misguided souls. They could have done the same thing by voting for McCain...without losing all their friends over their sudden reverse fear-based voting.
The only group of liberals I could imagine would cross the party line to vote for McCain are the racists. So, my McCain identity politics group suggestion for liberals who cannot vote for Obama because he is a different shade than they are is: Liberal Racists for McCainistan
Too bad the election is so close. I would have had bumper stickers printed up.

Where are the thumbs, man! This is totally genius stuff and it cracked.me.up. There's just no accounting for taste, I suppose. Although, it's a good bet that only those who find identity politics stupid/amusing/disgusting would get it.... so they probably wouldn't have sold anyway.
