Fear Mongering Dogmatic Neocon Propagandists Think Themselves Conservative?

This article was based on my reply to a friend who sent me a hysteria oriented invitation to watch a documentary about Barak Obama on the Hannity and Colmes Show.

I know a lot of people think this election matters. I'm not one of them. I don't think whipping up fear of Obama helps anyone to be more pragmatic and less emotional. I think who wins this election will be about as important as who the captains of the space shuttles Challenger or Columbia were. Our nation along with the entire world has entered economic self-destruct mode and both McCain and Obama agree that it is the right thing to do.

Regarding using our heads not our emotions, I just wish McCain supporters could focus on reasons to vote FOR John McCain rather than whipping up fear over Obama. People who support Obama don't buy this stuff and they certainly will not watch Hannity. I can't even stand more than a couple minutes of the guy but I won't go into all the reasons I have no respect for Hannity and no interest in anything he might say, ever. I see Hannity's fear-based politics as a waste of time because he is only preaching to his choir; not converting new voters. He makes no attempt to talk to people who disagree with him, only promote fear in those who agree with him.

The path we're on is not new or mysterious. The only difference between today and dozens of times in the past when an empire has disintegrated is the speed and the scope. Never before was there instant communication around the world. Never before were international economies so intricately interwoven.

Notice that I'm not suggesting that you do anything differently. I think it's great that you are involved in promoting your interests politically. I certainly don't mind you sending me this stuff; as long as you don't mind my commenting on it because you know I can't help myself. ;-)

Our elected officials and their economic advisors and the liberal universities that educated them cannot ever tell the public what is coming. They wouldn't dare even if they knew. I think most of them simply don't know; they just go with what they are told by flunkies whose best interests lie in continuing on the path of destruction.

So, instead of admitting they are wrong, they try to adjust their theory to match what is happening in the real world. The problem they have run into is the classic problem with central planning as in Socialist economies. Things in the real world change faster and for more obscure reasons than a person or central committee could ever hope to understand, and certainly never hope to respond to in real-time or ::Chuckle:: anticipate what would happen if the don't do this or that drastic action.
Nearly every republican talk show host (except Rush Limbaugh and a small group of others) are advocating this economic policy.

From my perspective it is a horror show as trusted "conservative" professional propagandists for the neoconservative GOP leadership dupe their loyal republican listeners and viewers into supporting Socialism by embracing the recent takeover tactics of the Fed and the US Treasury. It is surreal. These people are ardent advocates of Socialism and if they believed it they would probably all have heart attacks. In their demented illusions, they think Socialism is hell, yet they promote it with every breath. I find the whole spectacle stunning and extremely frightening. Its like the whole world has gone mad and people can no longer recognize contradictions even when they say them in one sentence.

In 1971 when President Nixon totally dismantled any connection between the dollar and physical gold, he said, "We're all Keynesians now." Keynesian economic policy is a necessary component of Socialism. You cannot hope to create a Socialist nation without Keynesian economic policy and you can't hope to sustain a nation that values individual liberty when it follows Keynesian economic policies.

We are there. Soon, personal wealth, savings, capital, will be considered traitorous. (except for the ruling elite from BOTH parties, of course.)

I don't think the election 4 years from now will make any difference either. Possibly in 8 years but I'm betting that it will be 12-16 years before we can crawl out of the hole we're plunging into, no matter who is President because as far as I can tell, all of our elected officials (except Ron Paul and precious few others) are intent on making this situation as bad as possible for as many people as possible. Sadly, it always happens this way, over and over and over.

Voting in a November election is the least powerful use of a vote. Showing up to promote candidates and voting in primary elections and every local election is where the real power of a vote lies. Unfortunately, many Americans ONLY vote in the Presidential election. Our culture encourages this behavior by not teaching citizens how the government works, what a vote is and how to use it to the maximum potential. The way I see it, a vote is simply information. In the Presidential election the only information carried in the vote is R, D and Other. For me, since I consider R and D to be the same choice, the information my vote carries is either: For the current direction or Against the current direction.

This year, my vote can carry even more information. Usually it doesn't matter what 3rd party anyone votes for. It is just counted as "other". The only people who care which "other" are the members of that other party. However, since Ron Paul endorsed Chuck Baldwin of the Constitution party, I'll be voting for Chuck. Not that I care who he is or that I care about the Constitution party, he isn't going to win so none of that matters. What matters is the information carried in the vote. Every vote for Chuck is a vote for Ron Paul Republicanism and vote against continuing in our self-destructive slide into Socialism. Every vote for R or D is a vote to continue on our current path. History shows, this is more like hell on earth than a peoples utopia. The only way out of Socialism is revolution. It takes a lot of oppression before formerly comfortable Joe and Jane suburbia will be willing to become freedom fighters. We have a lot of hell on earth to live through before there can even begin to be hope of recovery.

Voting for Chuck Baldwin, or Bob Barr, or writing in Ron Paul or whatever, isn't going to change any of that. I have no illusions of staving off this collapse with a mass election revolution. All I'm hoping to get out of this election is a rough count of how many of my fellow Coloradans are against our current course. I've got to know how badly I'm outnumbered as this nightmare unfolds. That's why I hope supporters of liberty cease their pointless criticisms of aspects of the Constitution party or Chuck Baldwin personally and rally behind Dr. Paul so we can assess our numbers as chaos descends on America.

I know from my occasionally listening to the Mike Rosen show that there is a pretty large body of folks who gulp down the dogmatic neocon propagandist's pabulum and inane "Rosneisms" like they were mana from heaven. Mike is my prime example of a person who fancies himself a conservative in some contrived way but who is obviously a staunch advocate for the imposition of Socialism on our nation today. He often repeats the mantra "Party trumps person." which I suspect allows him to self-hypnotize so that he is unable to recognize that his words are 180 degrees out of phase with the consequences of the policies he advocates. Such a blatant farce would be hilarious under different circumstances but in this case, blatant as it is, it works and people eat it up.

However, I also think there is a sizable body of active defenders of liberty in Colorado. We're going to need each other as this process plays out. Stand up and be counted. Stand behind Dr. Paul rather than standing behind your ego...or not. It's your choice. My job is to provide reasons to do so, not reasons to vote against the R or the D. I hope that for someone, I was successful although I'll never know.

Obama's sordid past has nothing to do with Neocons. He is what he is and you must face up to it.

He's a racist socialist puppet/shill for Soros and the NWO... your friend's 'hysteria' doesn't change a thing.

So our next President will be either a glib, preening socialist or a dimwitted, hot-tempered, ethically challenged militarist.  Worst. Choice. Ever.  (Well, at least since Nixon vs. Humphrey)

Actually David, it's more like a choice between a glib, preening socialist, or a hot-tempered, ethically challenged fascist.  The militarist in the fascist is just a side-effect.

I plan to vote for the Constitutionalist, not that it will make any difference in the outcome, but at least I'll be able to respect myself in the morning.

Maybe I am just a bit ahead of the other "Joe and Jane suburbia"s out there, but I am ready to become a freedom fighter NOW!  ... not after 8-12 more years of this crap.

As always, excellent article. You've demonstrated how thoroughly "newspeak" has infected public discourse. Fiction has become truth.
