Ron Paul's endorsement makes perfect sense

But it was not his preferred strategy. When forced to show his hand all he did was be himself. The result would have been the same if Barr had attended the press conference or not.

Anyone who has read my article Don't Waste Your Vote knows that Ron Paul's endorsement of Chuck Baldwin makes perfect sense, and why. Dr. Paul's original strategy of not making an endorsement revealed his true belief that it doesn't matter what 3rd party gets votes. The only information carried in a Presidential election vote is R, D and Other. No finer granularity on the third party vote is relevant to anyone but those who mistakenly believe their vote means more than it does.

The original strategy also showed Dr. Paul's respect for individuals who disagree with him on matters of faith. He probably didn't want to put pressure on his non-Christian supporters to vote for the Constitution Party. The good news is, they don't have to. It doesn't matter what third party gets their vote.

As a non-religious anti-religionist supporter of religious freedom and the US Constitution that guarantees it, I will gladly join my hero in his support for Chuck Baldwin. I disagree with his faith but I'd rather support a faithful supporter of the constitution and free markets than a faithless supporter of elitist central planning and fully regulated markets. The fact is, Chuck Baldwin isn't going to win so I have no reason to even consider the consequences of that coming to pass.

All the posts I've read about people turning against Ron Paul based on his not conforming to their own warped view of reality are funny. That means these people have been behind Dr. Paul for a very long time yet still had no clue about his motivations and strategy.

As far as I'm concerned, every vote for Chuck Baldwin is a vote for the Ron Paul Revolution. Now that the LP candidate has revealed that he is totally clueless about the role of 3rd parties them most effective use of a presidentia vote is to vote behind Dr. Paul regardless of your opinion of Chuck Baldwin's party and your fear of his faith.

None of the rest of the 3rd party tally will matter to those of us who continue the struggle with knowledge of the consequences of our actions. They can't matter because there is no way of knowing how many of those scattered, misguided souls were actually Ron Paul supporters who decided to waste their vote. Self-marginalization is not a winning strategy. This is a clue as to why I'd never bother to join the revenue sharing writers on NolanChart.com

Dear Jahfre Fire Eater,

Thanks for weighing in on this.  I haven't yet decided as my absentee ballot hasn't arrived yet, but will reconsider writing in Ron Paul which in my state will just mean they would reject my vote and not count it.   That idea ws probably just frustration talking.

I also dont share revenue here, but I do my best to not be misguided.  ("Scattered" does fit my lifestyle of working all over Asia though)  Thanks for writing again!

Jake

Chuck Baldwin for free markets, that is a joke. Anybody that thinks he is for free markets should look at his platform, especially the Baldwin/Castle Doctrine, which states no foreign ownership of anything in the US, how is this free market? Additionally, he wants to raise tariffs on imports so that the price of imports is equal to the cost of producing goods in the US, how is this free market? How is this libertarian?
