Consider Me Offended

How many segments of America can a candidate offend and still win the White House?

Mr. Obama, I am becoming more and more certain that you are not the right man for the job under any circumstance.

Mr. Obama, you seem to have one way to elevate your position on whatever topic you are addressing: Insult those that do not support your position.

You know the comments that have been made. I would like to suggest that you do not go about insulting segments of the American public you feel you can do without their votes to galvanize the support of your base. Because in the end we are all Americans, and we all know Americans that are in the groups being insulted.

Mr. Obama, I know some older people. So when you insult them, you are insulting people I know, that I work and interact with. They are more than qualified for what they do. As a man who understands stereotypes, I must say I am surprised you are willing to use them to further the idea that a younger man is needed for the job of President. Or that being older places them just one breath away from death. Did you not see all the "old" people at the Olympics performing well enough to win medals? Enough said.

Mr. Obama, I know many of these people you call gun nuts. With a carry permit, and a .380 Keltec in my pocket wherever I go, I imagine I am a gun nut to you. But in my world I am just exercising my Constitutional right to protect myself(see the Second Amendment for reference-you will find it in that document you swore to uphold-it's called The Constitution of the United States).

Mr. Obama, I have been to small town America. I have sat on front porches in small towns in your state of Illinois and waved as the neighbors went past. To insult them is to insult the backbone of America. Without a backbone, we are spineless. We do not want a spineless America. Perhaps Europe and the rest of the world would like that, but I would not.

Mr. Obama, I know many women who are mothers who can juggle more schedules and conflicts than you have ever encountered as a community organizer, or as a Senator. These women are my friends, and they get a lot done. To have your campaign suggest that a woman would be better off staying at home and addressing the kids is about as backwards a statement as I can imagine. So offensive is the comment that I am amazed at the silence from the women in your own political party. Perhaps they are dumbstruck.

Mr. Obama, the focus groups may show that you can lose the support of many sections of America and still win the White House. What I am going to say to you is this-you will not win the White House because you will lose the support of the friends of those you have been offending. You cannot offend my parents or my small town neighbors or friends that are working moms or my gun nut, bible toting friends, and believe you will gain my support. Because you won't. To question my friends and family as you have, in the end, IS questioning me and my judgement.

Find another way to promote your platform Mr. Obama. The next group you offend may have just enough friends to send you back to the Senate where you can work on some more of your important legislation. And between you and I, I have read the legislation you authored in the Senate. I think it speaks for itself. Keep trying.

I suppose that his grandstanding to promote himself as a christian has outlived it's usefulness. He "toted a bible" to his racist, christian church when it suited his needs.

We are nothing more than sheep to be sheared to the likes of a commie putz like him.

As you said, let him keep alienating. Great article.

Dan,

Thanks for the feedback.  As I have followed Obama, I have noticed that when he has had the opportunity to take a moral stand immediately on a topic, he generally chooses not to.  He waits for either consensus from his handlers, or a poll that says it is now safe to speak.  That is not leadership.

I encourage you and others to do your research on this creation of the Democratic Political Machine.  Look up his legislation.  Read what he has actually done.  It's fair game since this is "evidence" of his leadership skills.  It will not take most objective adults look to see the truth.

I do not want as a president someone that despises private sector workers for actually producing goods and services.  I do not want a president that is more worried about world opinion than he is American safety.  And I certainly do not want one that lies about the state of the economy to convince us we need change.  Record unemployment?  Only if you cherry-pick the time frame.

The goal is to subdivide the majority into groups we can pit against one another.  Then we get a majority of those subgroups to systematically strip away the rights of others.

All for the greater good, of course.

I'd prefer to see an article where you actually document what you are claiming about what Obama is saying. Commentary is fine, but documented commentary is much more interesting and useful to read.
