Ron Paul announced today that former Minnesota state Governor Jesse "The Body" Ventura will attend the Rally for the Republic to be held August 31st to September 2nd in Minneapolis. (Tickets are on sale now for $17.76.)
Jesse Ventura's attendance in his home state will likely boost the rally's attendance. The Revolution gathering will include noted figures such as Barry Goldwater, Jr., Tucker Carlson, and former New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson. Ventura published a book earlier this year entitled Don't Start the Revolution Without Me. Although he later declined to run for President or the Senate, I am quite glad he finally decided to officially join the Revolution.If you follow either of these politicians, I request you to consider joining Revolution at www.CampaignforLiberty.com. The ex-Governor of Minnesota, ex-Navy Seal, surfer resident from the Mexican Baha, former pro-wrestler and sports announcer, actor and libertarian-with-a-lowercase-L returns from his 100% solar-powered home to promote his new book. He provocatively charges that America is a Nation of Lemmings following the Donkeys and Elephants, claiming Our Constitution and Liberties are being Attacked. Below is a source list for those interesting in learning more.
1. "DemoCrips and the ReBloodlicans" ? Ventura is Anti-Democrat and Anti-Republican, in particular he charges they have been responsible for spending up the National Debt to $9 Trillion, dimming your children's economic futures as this money WILL be someday paid back. Claims "They're the same as the street gangs, only these guys wear Brooks Brothers suits." Views the current system as no better than a corrupt two-party dictatorship.
2. Advocates a "None of the Above" as a choice on every Ballot ? The Voter has a choice to show No Confidence in the system, and can avoid the embrace of the "Lesser of the Two Evils" system.
3. Attacks MSM (MainStreamMedia) Ventura claims that due to his anti-Iraq War views, MSNBC handcuffed from speaking out for three (3) years via a constricting but lucrative contract.
4. Anti-Global War on Terror and Noninterventionalist Foreign Policy. Ventura wants an end to the current wars and bin Laden brought to justice (although shockingly we may not have evidence for 9/11, we do for the bombings at We-the-People's Embassies in Africa and of the USS Cole, see [link]). Ventura echoed Ron Paul's response to the Bhutto assassination - all other presidential candidates replied with long responses on what the US should do, while Ron Paul stated its Pakistan's business.
5. Border Wall at Mexico and Canada will make the US "East Berlin" - Ventura also wonders why more (read: racist) attention is given to the Mexican wall, since terrorists have only used the Canadian border to date (LAX Bomb Plot, 9/11 Commission Report, pp 176-179). Ventura claims he will climb over in the opposite direction if built, as walls built today to keep people out may be there to keep people in 10 years later.
6. 9/11 Warrants Further Investigation - After having read 16 books on the topic and with Navy Seal Demolition training in his background, Ventura wants the Government to address silly questions like "How Can Two Planes Take Out Three Buildings?" and why the WTC were pulverized and fell at the speed of gravity instead of 'pancaking,' and how kerosene-based jet fuel can burn hot enough to melt metal. (My best attempts with my camping stove also failed.)
7. Bush/Cheney = Chicken Hawk. Ventura claims Cheney dodged the Vietnam War and as Vice-President then charged our Armed Forces into Iraq. President Bush's valiant defense of Dallas airspace from the Vietnamese Air Force during the Vietnam War isn't much better. Introduces a criteria for war - politicians should send their sons to war. (The Author takes a moment to pause for the 4,124+ American soldiers who have now died in Iraq.)
Ventura doesn't make it through the interviews without a few gaffes such as stating Ron Paul had dropped out of the Presidential race while he was still campaigning in Pennsylvania, a beneficial reference to Che Guevara, describing the Libertarian Party as a bunch of "anarchists", mistakening the year the Great Wall of China first fell to invaders, etc. etc.
Although Ventura's "The Mind" may not be quite as tarp as a shack, but has shown the mental capacity to educate himself and question his own views, a rare quality these days. So, I will overlook all these oversights for the moment as I am so elated at having another Voice for Freedom join the Revolution!

I love Ron Paul but I really, really like Jesse Ventura. He seems like a no-nonsense straight shooter with a genuine open-minded truthseeker's mindset. He "gets" it.
This is exciting to see he'll be speaking at the Campaign for Liberty Rally!
