I just read and really appreciated a story, written by Michael McDonnough, about taser torture used by law enforcement. It was a much overdue and very insightful commentary on just what we've dragged ourselves as a nation, down to. Imitation of a thoroughly vile and disgraceful practice, has no legitimate place in the world and never has. It was born of ignorant and hateful ancestors and should be kept in the violent and wicked past where it spawned from.
When I was a youngster I asked other youths I knew from the neighborhood, why most of the kids would identify themselves with supposed "good guy" wrestlers they'd watch on t.v.
Then I'd pose the question, "If you're a good guy, why are you doing the moves the "bad guys" do?" It came to mind again when the Abu Grahib story broke.
A once proud nation, comprised of many intelligent, kind, creative, and soulful beings, who prized freedom in their hearts above all, had their noses rubbed in an internationally embarrassing mess, needlessly foist upon them by their own sworn protectors.
That's what we have now. Emperor George and his insipid gaggle of toadies, pay lip service to a twisted notion they are totally unqualified to distinguish from any actual Liberty that exists in the real world or that is permanently embedded in the bosom of Freemen. They dare to look down their noses at other nations and those unfortunate people that they jealously drool about stealing stuff from.
The finger is pointed at those countries that pose no real threat to us, while our overlords shamelessly accuse theirs of torturing their citizens. What mindless hypocrisy and utter rot absurdly passes for statesmanship.
I'd like to help Mr. McDonnough, if I am able, with a site about all types of torture that is perpetrated around the world. Presumably it would never run out of stories that require being brought to the light. Sadly enough, it's because people haven't found to way to significantly reduce the power of their leaders. That their leaders are mean to people is about the simplest explanation that I care to give for such an awful state of affairs.
Rulers of countries that are despotic, will employ many others that are even more cruel to do their filthy bidding. That's where torture rears it's demonic head.
