Yesterday I finally received my copy of Ron Paul's new book, "The Revolution: A Manifesto." This is a very easy read and one that I am putting high on my recommended read lists to anyone that cares about developing their understanding of the foundations of our nation. It's an extremely eye-opening delivery of some of the basic challenges we face, why we face them, and how we can either embrace Constitutional answers or not while weighing the consequences of either choice.

We must understand the current political powers are not embracing the Constitution, their decision is already made so for me it became a question of accepting their path or holding to the path our founders set us on. In his preface Dr. Paul comments, "Today we are living in a fantasy world. Our entitlement programs are insolvent: in a couple of decades they will face a shortfall amounting to tens of trillions of dollars. Meanwhile, the housing bubble is bursting and our dollar's collapsing. We are borrowing billions from China every day in order to prop up a bloated overseas presence that weakens our national defense and stirs up hostility against us. And all our political class can come up with is more of the same." The buzz word during the Presidential Primaries has been change yet looking closely at what they propose for change makes me ever more vigilant in my desire to further my Constitutional education and help as many as I can in accomplishing the same.

There is no reason for anyone to continue living in ignorance of what our political system, our government does everyday to move us toward less liberty and freedom. Whether you agree with what is delivered in Dr. Paul's book or not you should read it carefully so you can insure your choice is made within your mind with a more complete understanding of our history and the choices we have for change. Again from the preface, "Real change...might even involve following our Constitution."

When I placed my order for "The Revolution: A Manifesto" I was given the opportunity to either pay shipping or spend a little more and receive free shipping. I saw Judge Andrew Napolitano also had a new book and being a fan of "The Constitution in Exile" I didn't hesitate to order "A Nation of Sheep." Although I have just started to read this book already I know it is a must read. There are a series of questions presented on the jacket cover and in his introduction that immediately garnered my respect, especially the very first question, "Why doesn't anyone in government take seriously the oath to uphold the Constitution?"

Many who know me know this is my very first measure of any candidate prior to determining if they are liberty-minded enough to earn my vote. I want to know if they understand the oath of office and will they truly uphold the oath. Judge Napolitano writes in a very frank, refreshing manner. If you are a student of our history and of the Constitution you will benefit from his writings. His clear explanation of the two schools of legal theories, that of natural law and positivism, will set you on a foundation for better understanding our government as it was meant to be and as it is today. From his introduction, "It is only when we become as sheep, out of fear, complacency, or weakness, that we lose the love of freedom. And when the love of freedom dies, there can be no hope for joy. No one can be happy and unfree." Liberty is not a statue, liberty is a choice. These two books will help any of us develop sound reasoning, through critical thinking, about our choice to embrace liberty or embrace our current path this nation is on.

Also, as a shameless plug since we'll be discussing these books on our radio show tomorrow:

Sunday, May 11th at 7:00pm EST, is our next broadcast for the March of Liberty!!

This week's topic is; Current Threats to Our Constituion

We'll look at H.R. 2421, The Clean Water Restoration Act of 2007 as well as discuss insights found in such books as Judge Napolitano's "A Nation of Sheep" and Dr. Ron Paul's "The Revolution: A Manifesto."

Are we a nation of sheep?

Is it really possible the Federal Government can lay claim to all interstate and intrastate water sources with a simple change in definitions found within this innocent sounding bill?

What will remain of personal property rights?

In addition we'll be joining with our listeners to discuss relative and important issues of today. We've enjoyed having lively debates in our past shows and look forward to this week's as well. Politics is an emotional subject yet our listeners debate rather than argue due to the mutual respect they share with each other. Join this show's interactive nature.

The new time Sunday is based on some listener feedback regarding the challenge of joining in on Monday's. We'll keep testing the waters to find a day that is best for most of you. Please forward this to others in your contact list.

Also, Liberty's Haven social community has entered the next phase of development. We are now in our soft launch phase and we need all of you to come help us get it ready for the world. Read about it here;

Let's Get This Party Started

Thanks everyone and we'll see you on the radio!

"Are we a nation of sheep?"

You are if you either:

A. Believe in what your Pastor tells you.

OR

B. Believe in what Al Gore tells you.

The Majority of Centrism in American Politics comes from 4 factors:

Left: Socialism

Right: Religious Morality

Bottom: Environmentalism

North: Anarchism

Most Voters see some of those influences as bad, unless they believe in them. This is why Centrism rules our politics, because you don't want to offend too many people and you need votes to win.

Ron Paul may be right on most issues, but he is a weak politician because America is not skeptical enough. If 55% of America was rational and atheist, then we wouldn't have these problems. Unfortunately people will believe almost anything that they are told. This is what is dangerous about Ron Paul worship. We have let our admiration of him make us look bad, and it has allowed libertarianism's definition to be changed to anti illegal immigration and anti abortion.
