Topic: Ron Paul
Thanks, Ron Paul

Lately, there are a few Ron Paul "supporters" who have decided to attack the good Doctor. But here is one Constitutionist who wishes to say "thanks".

There have been a number of attacks on Ron Paul by a handful of his "supporters".   Nolan Chart's own Jesse James Jones, Jr. is among this small but vocal group.  In his article Ron Paul is a Quitter!!!!!, he said,

"Who gives a flying spec of manure about Ron Paul? I now have the obvious standard for whether a candidate is real…if he makes his campaign about Vote Fraud first (not only but first) then he or she is a real candidate if not they are full of shit!!!!!! Paul is nothing more than a diversion. I’ve had my reservations about Ron Paul since the first "status of the campaign" video. He is a hack, a quitter and more important a fraud. He’s put more effort into hocking his little book than intelligently STRATEGICALLY and legitimately running for President. Also, he keeps saying that he doesn’t want this r3VOLution to lie on his shoulders. What a punk!!

...remember these are my feelings so any attempts to "correct me" is fruitless, this is how I feel and I’ll bet every dollar in my pocket I’m not alone in thinking it….BTW I want my donation back!!!!!"

Ok, enough of that.  I'll resist the urge to lose my professionalism and vent how I really feel about such childish ranting.

Those of us who have been fighting for Constitutional government ever since a Big Mac cost $1 knew that Ron Paul's candidacy was a worthy, but long-shot endeavor.  Nobody, but NOBODY is going to threaten the Elite's Fiefdom without drawing all the ire and dirty tricks we witnessed over the past year or so.  But people like Jesse think their donation to Ron's campaign came with a money-back guarantee.  And that is one of the issues that prompted me to write this article.

Those who believe that defending freedom and liberty is akin to successfully lobbying for some pork earmark is BS'ing themselves.  If you want some such project in your district, send a donation to a PAC or hire a lobbyist and, most likely... voi la!  Pork commeth.  But defending freedom and liberty doesn't work that way.  We are ALL responsible (including you, Jesse) to step up to the plate, sacrifice your time and money and maybe, just maybe, progress will be made.  Anybody who thinks just one person can single-handedly slay the Elite beast doesn't have a clue about what America is really up against.  I'll admit that I was tempted to dream that the Revolution would blast through the Elite's containment field and put Ron in the White House.  But when that didn't happen, like most I had the common sense to lightly touch down from my moment of fancy and appreciate the real progress we all made.

As one who for two decades watched Ron Paul read into the Congressional Record his special orders at 11:00 pm after everyone but the Congressional Steno had long since gone beddy-bye, it often seemed like he was freedom's last voice on the Hill.  Did that stop him?  Undaunted, he continued his noble work in spite of the smirks and snickers from the whores and prostitutes who occupy our House.  I cannot imagine how hard that must have been for him... knowing he was right but suffering so much for so long at the hands of those who are among our nation's biggest traitors.

As one who has previously run for Congress on a Constitutionist's platform, I could understand his initial reluctance to make this run at the presidency.  To say the road is rough is an understatement.  As his support grew... exploded, I thought how wonderful it must be for Ron to see so much support for that which he has held so near and dear to his heart for all these years.  How great it is for him and Carol to see how many people appreciate the enormous sacrifices they made to do this for our country... for you... for me.  And how great it is for him to see how many people truly love him for his integrity, his love and devotion to his country, and his honorable tenacity.

Along the way there were those who somehow expected everything to go perfectly.  Never mind that the explosive growth of support forced the growth of the campaign from that of a small hot dog stand to one of a national chain in all 50 states - OVERNIGHT!  No, every little bump in the road invoked a minority to claim incompetence and even intentional bungling.  And now these fair-weather patriots feel the need to treat Ron Paul like a dog treats a fire plug.  Well, Jesse has exercised his right to free speech and now so will I.

Thank you, Ron Paul.  Thanks for the countless, selfless sacrifices you've made for our country over the decades.  Thanks for having the backbone to, at 72 years of age, put yourself once more in the crosshairs of the Elite's propaganda gun.  Thanks for waking up so many thousands of people to the truth about the usurpations of our Constitution and for showing them how this is destroying our country.  Thanks for giving us "old patriots" a reason to hope once again.  Thanks for fanning the embers of freedom and liberty that had all but expired.  Thanks for inspiring a new batch of Constitutionist candidates who hopefully will soon join you on the Hill to fight your noble battle.

Jesse, instead of pointing at Ron Paul for failing to fix our country, why not look at yourself.  Instead of ranting about his shortcomings, why not show us how it's done.  Throw your hat into the ring and run for office.  "Why don't you, Mr. USAF Vet Dan?", you may ask.  Well, guess what.  I am.

Ron Paul has inspired me to take a stab at running on the Libertarian ticket in Illinois' 14th District.  If that rings a bell, it should.  That is the seat vacated by Denny Hastert and just temporarily lost to Democrat Bill Foster via a special election.  In the fall, Foster will face the loser of that special election - Republican multi-millionaire dairy tycoon Jim Oberweis.  Oberweis, a neoconservative wannabe, has made a career out of running for office, losing a number of attempts at various offices seeming to range from dog catcher to position of Lord Voldemort.

Will we win?  First we have the enormous challenge of collecting 10,000 valid petition signatures - 15,000 to be safe - in about three months.  If we accomplish that, then who knows.  Never say never but for those "Jesses" in my district, victory comes in many forms.  Like Ron Paul's presidential candidacy, a stab at the 14th District's congressional seat will provide an opportunity to educate and wake up some more people.  It will help the Libertarian Party to expand its ballot access.  For those who wish not to waste their vote on the evils of two lessors, they'll now have a real choice.  And maybe, just maybe, we can get Mr. Oberweis and Mr. Foster to participate in a debate.  Holding socialist and neocon feet to the Constitutional fire would bring great joy to those who are sick of the status quo, to say the least.

So thank you, Ron Paul.  I only wish there was more that I could do to show you how much I appreciate what you've done for us all.  You deserve so much more than what some have opted to give you lately.

May God bless you, Sir.

Now see, THAT's what I'm talkin' 'bout!

Step up to the plate, take some big swings...

You take over government not by grabbing the big chair, but by grabbing all of the other chairs, one chair at a time.

Mike Foster, thanks for the good wishes.  Those who want to help can start by spreading the word.  Reposting a link to my article may help inspire others to run for office as well.  As the old saying goes, the more crap you throw up against the wall, the more will stick.  The Elite may be able to control the outcome of one presidential election, but they'll have a much harder time controlling a large number of local races.

Thanks, again.

I couldn't have said it better myself. Thank you, Dr. Paul. While I am not in a position to run for office, I have four children with whom I have shared the Constitutionalist message of freedom, prosperity and peace. Our four children have embraced this message as their parents before them did many years ago. One vote at a time, one chair at a time, one nation at a time. The new American revolution has begun.

Not only is Jesse a weasel because he wrote such an article bashing the good Dr., he evidently has never heard of fair use. * Fair use is a doctrine in United States copyright law that allows limited use of copyrighted material without requiring permission from the rights holders, such as use for scholarship or review. It provides for the legal, non-licensed citation or incorporation of copyrighted material in another author's work under a four-factor balancing test. It is based on free speech rights provided by the First Amendment to the United States Constitution.

...remember these are my feelings so any attempts to "correct me" will prove fruitless, this is how I feel and after reading some of the replies to your article, I’m not alone in thinking it….BTW I want the time back I wasted reading your peice of trash article!!!!!

 Great article Dan !!! !!! !!! !!!

I only have one bone to pick with you regarding the name calling...  "Undaunted, he continued his noble work in spite of the smirks and snickers from the whores and prostitutes who occupy our House." You have done a great disservice to whores and prosititutes. :::)8^) At least when they enter into an agreement with their "constituents" they deliver on that promise. Most politicians promise anything to get elected but deliver the goods to others. Though in both interactions, the constituents end up getting the same thing, at least in the first example, they are expecting it. :::)8^)

Best of luck to you and I hope to see you on late night C-span right after the good Dr..
Thanks for being one of many who is picking up the torch Dr. Ron Paul has lit.

I'm hanging my head in shame at this moment. When I heard that Ron Paul was 'suspending' his campaign I was pissed, felt betrayed and took off my bumper sticker and my window clings. I even said, and I cringe now, "I'm not supporting a quitter".  After reading this article I am ashamed and humbled.  Dr. Paul KNEW exactly what he was doing and how hard the Elite would hit and yet he did it anyway, and he did it to foster the movement that I confused with just a play for the White House. I'm contrite and I thank you USAF Vet Dan for writing the article. I've printed it out and posted it on my fridge, where I'm going to look at it frequently and remember how quick I was to judge, and remember also that this fight has only just begun.

The "Revolution" does lie on Paul's shoulders... as it does for every citizen of The United States.

The "Revolution" has many facets, just like it's supporters.

We each have our part, our reason , for our enthusiam, loss of apathy or what ever drew us to Dr. Pauls campaign

For me it is "Big Brother" (among other issues) keeping us under constant surveillance. On a section of Interstate on I-640 there are 15 cameras and several different types of sensors installed on a 7 mile stretch of highway, Both directions ! but we can't camera the border.  Red light cams, They are for revenue and intimidation only with a small fringe benefit of some safety.

I believe Paul knows he is just another member of the Revolution and also realizes it is far bigger than he alone as just the figurehead.

As for Mr Jones he may  step aside and perhaps ride on our coat tails towards our regained freedoms.

I and we will happily carry him and the rest of the Americans whom are seemingly oblivious to the immence task of what the "Revolution" is all about.

Dan, God speed and good luck good sir.

Ok, I've had fun reading these comments as well as the comments on Jesse's article, but now let's stop name-calling for a moment and think about this. Altho you might not like the text of Jesse's article, it is revealing something that we've seen in other similar articles, and perhaps even revealing some well-hidden feelings of our own. It is revealing confusion and dismay; it is revealing the feeling of being hurt and cheated; it is revealing incomprehensible feelings that erupt when high hope is brought down to hell. And to be honest, I'm not describing what I think are Jesse's feelings as much as I'm describing my own feelings. Feelings that I can't yet put into words -- and when I do try, sometimes they come out in some emotional way that I really had not intended.

There are many of us with strong, misunderstood, indescribable feelings right now. Keep in mind that we just might end up being your constituents, and perhaps being your best supporters.

For the Cause,
Mike

MikeFoster, I thought about that very same thing last night after reading Lisa in Vancouver's comment.

Jesse obviously started out as a "supporter" of the ideas that embody the Revolution.  That makes him "one of us" to some extent.  As his was an extreme example of the frustration you described, I thought it would be useful to contrast a less emotional - more pragmatic perspective.  While my main objective was to simply express thanks to Ron Paul for what he has done, I hope it helps others like Lisa who were having problems dealing with their post-loss feelings of frustration and hopelessness.

As for Jesse, I fear he is a lost cause.  But perhaps he, too, will come around when he sees the seeds sewn by Ron Paul begin to sprout.

Dan,

As someone who has run for congress as a Libertarian, please let me urge you to consider following Dr. Paul into the Republican party.

Also, let me urge you to start much smaller, such as State Rep, or City Council.

I have found that the LP label gets about 3.5% of the vote, regardless of effort expended, whereas the GOP on a bad day gets 20-33%.

Ron Paul has clearly shown that it is not necessary to compromise your principles in order to run in the GOP.

And yes, I am going to practice what I preach.  The GOP is kind of dead in this county, so I am going to volunteer to be the county GOP chair.  I am already a delegate to the regional and state convention this saturday, where I will work to become a national delegate.

I encourage everyone else reading this to get involved in your local GOP.  The more dead and disorganized they are, the better.  Then in two years time, when "Ron Paul" republicans are running for congress, we will be in a position to make sure they get a fair shake.

Anyway Dan, even if you do not take my advice and run GOP, good luck to you.

Finally, to those, like Jesse, who think it is over, please visit the following links.

 [link edited for length]

This link shows that McCain does NOT have 1191 delegates, no matter what the MSM is claiming.  At best he only has 1120, but really, only 993 are bound to him.  127 are unbound (and many of those are RP supporters)  If this goes past 1 round of voting, another ~500  more delegates will be able to vote their conscience (such as those of us from SD) and Ron Paul's vote total will rise.  Consider this: All of Louisianna's delegates are officially "uncommitted" and we all know that a sizable percentage (nearly half) of those delegates are actually Ron Paul supporters, the other half are a mis-mash fusion of Romney, Huckabee, and McCain supporters, and some of those may be dropped as a result of a legal challenge that is still ongoing, AFAIK.

Check out this link: [link edited for length]

Wherein all of the RNC convention rules are discussed: Did you know that the delegates (not the RNC leadership, and not some steenkin' lawyers) are in complete control of the convention, and can do whatever the heck they please?  I didn't know that until I read the bylaws, which you can find as a link from this article.

The delegates can vote to unbind all delegates.  The delegates can vote to suspend the rules and proclaim Ron Paul the candidate by acclimation.  (Okay, it's not likely, but it is possible)  Lots of LP and CP members are fully aware of the trouble  "shift in direction" that can be caused by a determined, organized group using Robert's Rules of Order. }:-)

The best part is, even though your state may have already had it's primary, or even it's convention, it may not be too late for you - yes, even you Jesse - to become a delegate or an alternate.  McCain's little secret is that he can't even fill all the seats he has been awarded in some states.  They are a little desparate, and would be really grateful if some nice registered Republican would volunteer to be a delegate or an alternate for McCain. (hint hint) In most states, the GOP chairman or exec. comm. can appoint delegates to fill vacancies, and there are almost always vacancies.

Even being an alternate is a good thing; who knows what calamities or misfortunes might befall a McCain delegate and enable a Ron Paul supporter to step up.  Tires could go flat, airline tickets or hotel registrations could mysteriously be canceled.  The delegate might even make it to St. Paul, only to get so drunk the night before or maybe get some bad fish gumbo, that they are unable to attend the convention.  Or perhaps the neighbors kept them awake unitl 4 in the morning, and someone canceled their wake-up call.  Even if you can't go as an alternate, you could always attend as a volunteer to the RNC, and help Ron Paul supporters get where they need to be on time.  You might even be able to convince some undecided Huckabee or Romney delegate to vote for Ron Paul.

If you don't make the effort to show up in person at the convention in St. Paul, don't go blaming the good Doctor for liberty's demise.

Kevin,

As I said in my article, victory can be measured by more than merely the results of an election.  The LP asked me to run for the 14th CD seat for all of those reasons.  While I would not rule out a victory anymore than you would rule out such for RP at the convention, the absense of such will not be a defeat.

When I ran in 1996, I took advantage of the fact that the Democrats were not running a candidate against 14-term incumbent Phil Crane.  They were a bit "surprised" to learn that I "stole" their ballot spot.  That's when the death threats started.  I suspect I'd get the same kind of welcome from the GOP today if I showed up at their door.  However, if the opportunity ever comes along, I'd prefer to run as a Republican as I acknowledge the "edge" that would give me (uh... perhaps not this election!)  ;-)

Yes, Ron Paul is one of the best candidates there ever was to run for the highest office in the country. Unfortunately, USA is not yet ready for a revolution..

That is why, in the best interest of this country, we all have a responsibility to make sure that neither Billary Clinton nor Insain McCain becomes the next president.

I suport the ideas of Ron Paul. But we need to do something about the immenent danger to this country, which comes from inside, in the form of lobbyists, neocons and the military-industrial complex.

Let us work together to make sure our country does not run on the destructive policies of Insain McCain and Billary Clinton.

Let us all vote of Obama... We can then work in the meantime, and make sure the revolution succeeds in 2012...

SmartPriced, can you tell me what you think differentiates Obama's platform from Hitlery's?  How would he be any less of a Marxist than she?

Can you tell me how Obama's platform guts the Constitution any less than "Boom Boom" McCain's?

Choosing from any of these three Elite puppets is like choosing the electric chair, AIDS, or cancer.  Any of the three will kill you, or, in this case, the Constitutional Republic that IS our nation.

You say the USA is not ready for a revolution.  I say its way past due.  Every action we take, every vote we cast, every word we speak should be in opposition of the status quo.

To vote for any of these goons is to vote for the demise of everything for which this nation stands.  If you don't want to waste your vote, vote Libertarian.  You'll be making a stand for your beliefs, giving the strongest third party a boost, and make a statement that you solidly reject the status quo.

USAF Vet Dan,

I am a fan of your articles. You can call me a troll if you like. But the only reason I supported Dr. Paul was that his ideas were so clear, so powerful. But since he ain't gonna win, coz you non-trolls think internet is the best media to influence American minds. You were wrong. There are philosophies deeply entrenched, something that would always oppose anything that would affect the status quo...

Ro Paul won't win. But I am ready to contribute time and money to ensure his ideas do not die out.

Long Live the Revolution...

But in the meantime, the next best option, IMHO, is Barack Obama. He talks just like Ron Paul.  He is young, smart and full of energy & passion.

I cannot leave my country in the hands of the likes of McPain and Hitlary. I am voing Obama....

SmartPriced,

You conveniently did not answer my questions.  If you did, you could not have made your "He [Obama] talks just like Ron Paul" statement.  Obama preaches Marxism, Ron Paul is a Constitutionist.  They are as dissimilar as fire is to ice, fat is to thin, wrong is to right, and stupid is to smart.

If you really are a fan of my articles, then compare Obama's platform to Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution.  To thine own self be true, SmartPriced.  The last person on earth that you should consider BSing is yourself.
