Ω Ron Paul sent a message to all his supporters on the campaign email list. There were many topics covered. One statement was directly targeted at putting an end to the on-going debate regarding a third-party or Independent Presidential campaign should he not secure the nomination during the Republican National Convention.
"Of course, I am committed to fighting for our ideas within the Republican Party, so there will be no third party run. I do not denigrate third parties -- just the opposite, and I have long worked to remove the ballot-access restrictions on them. But I am a Republican, and I will remain a Republican." This should leave little doubt about his intentions. Its time to take Dr. Paul at his word and believe him when he says there will be no other Presidential campaign for him.
In fact, he also discussed another major priority outside of this bid for the White House. "I also have another priority. I have constituents in my home district that I must serve. I cannot and will not let them down. And I have another battle I must face here as well. If I were to lose the primary for my congressional seat, all our opponents would react with glee, and pretend it was a rejection of our ideas. I cannot and will not let that happen."
The importance of not only Congressman Paul retaining his seat in Congress but also of having his supporters work hard in their states for all candidates is clear. The key to success for restoring the United States to the Federalist Republic roots of the nation is Congress, as well as every state and local governments. Those supporting Ron Paul need to work just as hard to identify and support other candidates who share a strong commitment to honoring the oath of office while understanding the real job of representatives for the people.
Among the news there was also a tease by Dr. Paul. Many have been wondering what is next for their grassroots movement. "And I have plans to continue fighting for our ideas in politics and education that I will share with you when I can, for I will need you at my side. In the meantime, onward and upward! The neocons, the warmongers, the socialists, the advocates of inflation will be hearing much from you and me." I can't wait to see what the good doctor has in store!

Ron Paul made it clear from the beginning he did not intend to run as a third-party or Independent. He also clearly disclosed he was still running in his Congressional district. Its a shame people feel they were cheated but they were not! He is always honest in all his dealings with the campaign.
My eyes have been opened for decades. The last time I voted for any major party Pres was 1984. The only difference this year is I can talk about these things and people listen, are interested in sharing what they know, are willing to study and learn together...and they are getting active in politics. One of my biggest thrills is there are people even interested in...dare I say...HISTORY!! To any doubting it, YES the money has been very well spent, IMHO.

Good report. Dr. Paul always said that he was a Republican and that he would only seek the Republican nomination. I always took him at his word. As I said, his campaign has been tremendously importannt in getting the libertarian message out to the countrry. Having him in Congress is also tremendously important. He is not quitting the struggle, but is limiting his pursuit of the presidency to a campaign in the Republican Party, as he said he would. We can trust him to keep his word, which is why we have suported him We should support him in this decision as well.

If Ron Paul is a Republican, then I am a Republican. He fights for me so I fight for him. It's that simple.

If Dr. Paul wishes to remain in the Republican party--so be it. The Revolution will fight on Republican turf! This soldier will march with Congressman Paul wherever he goes.
