                                              IN PURSUIT OF LIBERTY

                                     THE NORTH AMERICAN UNION

                                      IS THIS DANGEROUS?

In 2005 members of the Bush administration along with Mexican President Vicente Fox and Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin established the Security and Prosperity Partnership.

This partnership would lead to the establishment of the North American union by 2010. What would be the North American Union? It will be similar to the European Union where all borders would be eliminated between Canada , the United States and Mexico.

This union would facilitate the travel of Canadians and Mexicans in the United States.

There are those that would argue that it would be indeed beneficial to establish such a union modeled after the EU. They would state that it will help with commerce between the three countries without any difficulty of having borders . It is supposed to create a new authority for this purpose.

This proposal would do away with the sovereignty of the Unites States. The new authority which would be created apparently would not be held accountable to the U.S. Supreme Court and to the United States Congress.

This act would do away with the United States Constitution as the Supreme Law of the land for this new authority which would be created will not follow our constitution.

The ones who believe in protecting the sovereignty of the U.S. as well as our Constitutional rights are stating that this is being planned without consulting the people in the form of a referendum. Furthermore they would argue that this is all being put together by presidential regulations which may not have any oversight. As a result they would indicate that by the way this union is being put together is nothing less than a complete danger to our constitutional rights that the Founding Fathers had enshrined in our constitution.

If the Founding fathers were to be alive today and saw and heard what was being proposed, this would be called nothing less than  total tyranny on the part of our government but particularly by President Bush.

Those of us who are liberty minded who argue against the establishment of such a union would urge all citizens in the U.S. to demand from the elected representatives that they require  the president to provide all documentation concerning this proposed union to the United States Congress so that Americans can be informed as to all its implications and hopefully all citizens can demand a stop to the giving away of our sovereignty and our constitutional liberties. Finall,y those who cherish freedom would urge all Americans to stand up against this proposed union and to demand our elected representatives that such a union never become a reality and that it needs to be stopped by our Congress and even by our courts.
